Achiltibuie is a small Highland village on the North West coast of Scotland. Drive north along the A835 road, past Ullapool and towards Lochinver. The road will lead you to a junction where a single track road winds off to the left and towards the Summer Isles. It's survival of the fittest to make it to the end of the twisty road and to Achiltibuie but it will be well worth your while.
The Smokehouse is situated in Altandhu. When you arrive at a beautiful sandy beach at the end of the single track road you have reached Achiltibuie. Turn right and drive through Achnahaird, a beautiful collection of croft houses. Follow the road as it starts to climb up a hill and after a minute or two you will appear at the top and be over looking the stunning Summer Isles which are spread out before you. This view is never the same twice. Once you have caught your breath, carry on driving down the hill and follow the road round to the left. You have now entered Altandhu, another cluster of fine crofting homes. Carry on the road and round the corner and you will reach the Smokehouse, on the left, nestled in the hill.
